Slough drug dealer jailed after Border Force uncover £10k cannabis stash

Lemarr Stevens has been jailed

A drug dealer from Slough has been jailed after police found a zombie knife at his home and he attempted to import a parcel filled with £10,000 of cannabis past border controls.

Lemarr Stevens, of Common Road, was handed a three-year and nine-month prison sentence at Reading Crown Court on January 20.

The 24-year-old pleaded guilty to five offences at the same court on January 12, which included knife possession, drug selling and drug import charges.

Police constable Joshua Bennett, the investigating officer, said Stevens had shown a ‘complete disregard for the law’ and his sentence was ‘a clear message’ to other offenders.

Stevens’ crimes began to unravel after he fled a stop and search on the footpath leading from Grampian Way to Common Road at around 5.45pm on February 5 last year.

Officers pursued the now-convicted criminal, apprehended him and performed a Section 23 search.

They found 14.33g of cannabis in two grip-seal bags containing two yellow foil packets and one black foil packet. They also uncovered £500 in cash.

Stevens was arrested on suspicion of drug dealing offences and released on bail.

When officers retraced his route, they found a discarded lock knife and a mobile phone which contained evidence of drug supply.

Police then raided Stevens’ home under a Section 18 search, where they found a zombie knife, a samurai sword, 950.5g of cannabis worth £6000 in street value, and an MDMA pill.

Later that year, at around midday on October 9, UK Border Force at Coventry International Hub RMG (Royal Mail Group) intercepted a suspicious parcel that had been sent to Stevens.

Inside was more than 1kg of cannabis, worth £10,000 in street value.

More drug paraphernalia was found when Stevens was again subject to a Section 23 stop and search on Grampian Way at around 1.40pm on December 17.

Stevens' man bag contained seven individual deals of female flowering head cannabis, a digital weighing scale, £20 in cash, and a phone that contained evidence of drug dealing.

Another search of Stevens’ address uncovered unused drug packaging, two heat-sealing machines, cannabis labels and identical lids and tins for drugs he had at the time of his arrest.

He was charged and remanded into custody the following day.

PC Bennett said Stevens had been importing and supplying class B drugs, 'showing complete disregard for the law and the harm these substances cause in our communities'.

He continued: “This result sends a clear message that we will continue to target those who choose to engage in drug‑related crime, and we remain committed to protecting our neighbourhoods from the harm these activities cause.

“We will continue to proactively target those responsible, via both visible patrols and covert tactics, aimed at disrupting and pursuing offenders.

“If you have any information about drug supply in Slough, you can report it to us by calling 101 or through the online reporting form on our website.

“Alternatively, you can report anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or by visiting their website.”

Stevens pleaded guilty to:

  • Two counts of possession with intent to supply a controlled class B drug, namely cannabis
  • One count of possession with intent to supply a controlled class B drug, namely cannabis resin
  • One count of being concerned in the fraudulent evasion of a prohibition on the importation of a class B drug
  • One count of possession of a knife in a public place
