    Live FA Cup updates: Slough Town vs Altrincham

    SLOUGH ARE THROUGH TO THE SECOND ROUND OF THE FA CUP! 

    In the pouring rain at Arbour Park, Slough have held onto the first half lead given to them by Janneh and Makowski. Gale got one back for Alty before Osborne was sent off for the visitors. 

    90' The ball almost breaks for Gale in the Slough area but the Rebels manage to clear and force a corner through Makowski. 2-1  

    90' Into the 94th minute. Slough just about hanging on in the rain! 2-1 

    90' Around 7 minutes to play, The 10 men of Altrincham are still pushing hard here. But the ball is down in their own half. 2-1 

    90' Slough so close now. They have nine additional minutes to negotiate here! The Alty fans are buoyed by that. 2-1 

    87' A brilliant block inside his own box from Oshilaja. That looked like it was heading in for Altrincham. 2-1

    84' Reiss Greenidge now goes down injured after taking a knock from an Altrincham player. 2-1 

    Slough are now playing against 10 men for the final 10/15 minutes. Will that help them navigate these final minutes? 2-1

    Osborne is sent off after an off the ball clash with Makowski. Must have been for an elbow? 

    A yellow card has also been shown to the Altrincham backroom staff. 

    76' Janneh is now down in his own box receiving treatment for an injury. He's replaced by Peter Ojemen. 

    75' Reddin whips in a dangerous low ball from the right which Davies deals with brilliantly. That could have flown in off him for an own goal but he steered it to safety. Davies has played well today. 2-1

    71' Are the Rebels going to look to sit in and protect what they've got. 

    70' 20 minutes left on the clock. Alty make their fourth change. 

    67' That goal has changed the whole complexion of this tie. Alty had looked a little deflated and out of ideas, but they're full of energy now and so are their supporters. And fair play to Gibson, his triple substitution paid off handsomely. 2-1 

    65' GOAL Slough Town 2, Altrincham 1 (James Gale). 

    The visitors hit back. It was scrappy but they won't care. The ball should have been cleared but it broke for Gale who spun well and poked a low shot beyond Desbois. The Rebels just couldn't clear their lines there. 2-1 

    64' Substitution for Slough as well. Dyce for Oshilaja. 

    63' Subs for Altrincham. Ward, Crankshaw and Marriott, replaced by Crawford, Gale and Kosylo. 

    62' So far so good for the Rebels in this half. They continue to win the second balls and look at least as threatening as their visitors. Alty currently inside their own half. 

    56' Slough have the ball in the back of the net once more. Myers drove forward with the ball and slipped it through for Makowski who steered it home, but the referee's assistant's flag was raised. 2-0 

    55' Ward sends a dangerous free kick well over the bar. That looked like a really good chance for Alty to get themselves back into this, but Desbois wasn't needed there. 2-0 

    50' Desbois is called into action once again to make a fine save from Ward there! 2-0 

    49' A low shot from Marriott skips and skims off the wet surface but Adam Desbois makes the save. 2-0

    47' Alty look to make an immediate impression in the second half but Ward sends the ball behind for a goal kick. 2-0 

    The teams are back out at Arbour Park. The Rebels looking to protect this deserved half time lead, or perhaps even add to it. 2-0

    HALF TIME: Slough Town 2, Altrincham 0

    A brilliant half from the Rebels. Two goals within the space of a few minutes from Janneh and Makowski have the Rebels 2-0 up at the break.

    Slough Town have one foot in the second round of the FA Cup after first half goals from Ansu Janneh and Wiktor Makowski put them two goals to the good against National League visitors Altrincham.

    Both sides came into the first-round clash struggling for form and confidence, with Alty having dispensed with the services of long-term manager Phil Parkinson late last month.

    Slough were also desperately short on luck and confidence, with illness and injury having ravaged the camp in recent weeks and contributed in part to their heavy league defeats at Weston Super Mare (5-1) and home to Maidstone United (4-1). 

    The Rebels started this clash in inclement conditions well enough, with Tarik Gidaree bombing down the right side of the Altrincham defence to good effect in the opening 20 minutes. But those barnstorming runs were cut short when his hamstring gave way, the young defender howling in pain as he pulled up.

    Slough’s injury problems were mounting, but the man who came on, Ansu Janneh was celebrating just 12 minutes later when he hooked home Reiss Greenidge’s knockdown from a corner to make it 1-0 in the 32nd minute.

    Three minutes later and the Rebels were two goals to the good. The irrepressible Johnny Goddard backheeled the ball cleverly into the path of Tyrese Dyce who swept in a gorgeous low cross that Makowski steered home from close range.

    Slough should possibly have made it 3-0 before the break with Jared Myers twice striking over the bar and Jaiden Drakes-Thomas – match winner in the last tie against Enfield Town – striking the inside of the post with an audacious curled finish from the edge of the box.

    45' Oh My! Drakes-Thomas clips the ball onto the inside of the post with a brilliant left footed effort. Within inches of making it 3-0 there. Again good work from Goddard to tee him up. 2-0 

    45' Myers again with a decent chance. An unconvincing clearance falls to Myers who tries to take on Baines and lashes the ball into the side netting. 2-0 

    45' A minimum of three added minutes in the half. 2-0 

    42' Greenidge wins the ball and feeds it to Myers who sprints forward before sending a shot over the bar. Decent chance for the Rebels there. 2-0 

    41' The Rebels will be desperately hoping they can get into half time with this 2-0 lead in tact. 

    40' The Alty fans shout at their own players 'Do you want it? Show us you want it! 

    35' GOALLLL!!!!!! Slough Town 2, Altrincham 0 (Makowski)

    Makowski is the Rebels' fox in the box, Goddard and Dyce work the ball well down the left and Dyce sends in a low cross that Makowski steers home from close range! 

    Janneh was in the right place at the right time to volley home there. He did well to find space in the box and the finish was emphatic! He'd only been on the pitch for 12 minutes following Gidaree's injury. 

    32' GOALL!!!! Slough Town 1, Altrincham 0 (Janneh)

    The Rebels take the lead from a corner. The ball is whipped to the back post where Greenidge heads it back into the area and Ansu Janneh - on for his debut - hooks a shot beyond Fallon. 1-0 to the Rebels! 

    31' Jimmy Knowles breaks well and gets away a low shot that Desbois saves! 0--0

    30' Really clever short corner routine by Slough. It's worked to Goddard on the edge of the area and he clips the ball to the back post where it looked like Rebels players were queuing up to put it in, but Alty manage to clear. 0-0

    28' Half chances at both ends. First Jake Cooper had a free header from a short corner routine, but he doesn't get a clean connection on it and Slough break through Dan Roth, who very nearly plays through Makowski on the break. It doesn't quite come off but Slough have been dangerous at times. 0-0 

    25' Davies very nearly makes a hash of a routine clearance. The ball eventually drops back for Osborne who lets fly but his shot goes well wide. 0-0 

    20' Tarik Gidaree drives forwards but pulls his hamstring. Looked and sounded like a bad one. He'll have to be replaced. He screamed in pain as it went. Such a shame as he'd begun the game really well. 0-0 

    He's going to be replaced by new signing Ansu Janneh. 

    19' Half chance for the visitors. A long free kick into the box is headed down by Sassi and Reddin very nearly got a strike away but Slough clear. 0-0 

    16' Half chance for Roth, but his touch allows the ball to get away from him as he looked to get a strike away. Alty then broke quickly through the dangerous Crankshaw but Slough managed to get back and snuff out the danger. 0-0 

    14' Osborne tries to lift a free kick over the top for Alty's Crankshaw but it's driven too far and fast for the striker and runs out of play. 0-0 

    12' Davies chances his arm from inside his own half. It drifts wide. But he's done it before so why not? 0-0 

    11' Alty are determined to play out from the back but they've been caught by Slough a couple of times now. Risky play. 0-0

    10' A relatively even start here at Arbour Park. Both sides will be reasonably satisfied with how they've started the tie. Makowski has just headed well wide of the mark from the edge of the box 0-0 

    8' Reddin twists and turns on the edge of the area before firing over the bar although his shot was deflected over for a corner. Slough manage to deal with the danger. 0-0 

    Gidaree has already shown his willingness to get forward on this right hand side. He's a threat when he gets motoring. 0-0 

    1' Decent chance for Slough in the first minute. The Rebels play the ball through for Drakes-Thomas in the area, but his left footed effort curls wide. 0-0 

    1' Altrincham kick this first round FA Cup tie underway. Slough fell behind within 40 seconds against Enfield. They've managed to avoid that fate so far.

    We're minutes away from kick-off. Alty are in red and black striped shirts with black shorts and white socks. Slough will kick towards the Academy end in the first half. 

    The teams are in the tunnel. It's clouded over quite a bit ahead of kick off. Despite their recent indifferent form, the Alty fans are in good voice as the teams trot out. 

    Both sides are out at Arbour Park and going through their pre-match warm up routines. This game will go to extra time and penalties if there is no winner after 90 minutes. 

    We've just had a bit of a cloud burst. But generally the conditions have been fairly pleasant at Arbour Park and hopefully we'll be set fair for this afternoon's tie. 

    Slough have had an interesting run to the first round. They defeated Welling United after a replay to get through the second qualifying round, edged out Bedfont Sports 2-1 away despite falling a goal behind and seeing goalkeeper Adam Desbois sent off in the first half. They then played out a barnstorming fourth qualifying round tie at home to league rivals Enfield Town, falling 2-1 down in the first half before battling back to beat Town 3-2 with second half goals from Wiktor Makowski and Jaiden Drakes-Thomas, the winner coming in injury time! 

    Slough Town manager Scott Davies has called for Rebels supporters to back them in good numbers this afternoon and help roar them to a famous FA Cup victory

    Here's how the Rebels line up for today's clash with Alty

    Welcome to Arbour Park where Slough Town take on National League side Altrincham for a place in the second round of the FA Cup. Both sides come into today's crucial fixture struggling for form in their respective league campaigns.

    The Rebels, beset by illness and injury, have collapsed to heavy defeats at Weston Super Mare (5-1) and home to Maidstone United (4-1) in their last two league matches, leaving them in the National League South relegation zone.

    While Altrincham have recently dispensed with the services of Phil Parkinson after more than eight years, with Alty having dropped to 19th in the National League. They've won just one of their last 10 matches, at Harborough Town (3-0) to set up today's first round clash with Slough.
