Mold in your house is bad for your health and can cause a range of health and respiratory problems.
Toxic black mold – or Stachybotrys is usually associated with poor air quality and there is one sign that ‘almost guarantees’ your house is infested with dangerous spores and fungi.
Website Home Guides says: “To tell if black mold may be growing in your home, just follow your nose. A musty, earthy smell, like dirt and rotting leaves, is a telltale sign of mold’s presence.
“Visually black mold is a little different to other molds, being greenish-black and somewhat slimy or wet, but may also appear greyish with a sooty, powdery texture,” the website says.
