A 37-year-old man has been arrested and detained under the Mental Health Act following reports a man was in a Slough shop with an axe on Thursday, July 7.
Police were called to the incident, in Ipswich Road, shortly after 9am, but the man had left the shop before they arrived.
An area search was carried out, and a man was arrested nearby on suspicion of affray and shoplifting.
He was bailed until Wednesday, August 17 but was detained under the Mental Health Act and transported to hospital, where he remains.
No one was injured during the incident.
