Slough Ice Arena ranked in UK top ten

Slough’s Ice Arena has been ranked one of the top ten skating rinks in a UK-wide study. 

The arena was rated ninth out of 57 ice rinks from Inverness Ice Centre to Dundonald Ice Bowl in Belfast.

The study considered ten factors to reach its ranking, which included TripAdvisor and Google reviews, as well as price per person and access to public transport. 

Making the top three ice rinks were: Alexandra Palace in London, Billingham Forum Ice Arena in Stockton-on-Tees and the Dundee Ice Arena.

Slough Ice Arena celebrated its fifth anniversary this year after the ice rink in Montem Lane was redeveloped through a multi-million Pound project. 

The new arena site also features a Clip 'N' Climb climbing wall, gym and café. 

It is the home of two ice hockey teams: Slough Jets, which have played in the town since 1986, and Bracknell Bees.  

In addition, Dancing on Ice TV show skaters have trained at the venue and a charity specialising in teaching people with additional needs how to ice skate (SPICE), also use the space.

Study factors were: total number of TripAdvisor reviews, TripAdvisor rating score, total number of Google reviews, Google rating score, price per person, access to a train station, number of hours with rain possibility, average temperature, average visibility, average humidity.
