The southbound carriageway of the A355 Tuns Lane will be closed tomorrow night so roadworks can be carried out.
It will be fully shut from 9pm until 6am on Wednesday morning to allow workers to install new lanes on the approach to the Copthorne roundabout.
Diversions will be in place and residents will still have full access to their homes.
Once finished, the junction of Tuns Lane with Church Street and Cippenham Lane will be a so-called ‘hamburger’ roundabout, where the main carriageway – in this case Tuns Lane - goes straight through the middle of the junction.
The roundabout will also get a new ‘intelligent’ traffic light system which senses traffic jams and adjusts the sequencing of the lights accordingly.
The £5.5million scheme also involves widening parts of Tuns Lane to three lanes.
Work is expected to be complete by November.
