Cabinet shake up revealed as council leader announces changes

There has been a shake up in the Slough Borough Council cabinet as the leader has announced his changes.

Cllr Rob Anderson, leader of the council, has brought new councillors into the cabinet and there has also been changes to the names of some of the portfolios.

Changes include Cllr Pavitar Kaur Mann being appointed commissioner for transport and highways.

She previously served as commissioner for education and children’s services.

Cllr Natasa Pantelic replaces Cllr Sabia Hussain, deputy leader of the Slough Labour Party, as commissioner for health and social care.

The full cabinet is as follows:

Finance and strategy – Cllr Rob Anderson

Environment and leisure – Cllr Martin Carter

Transport and highways – Cllr Pavitar K Mann

Regulation and consumer protection – Cllr Satpal Parmar

Housing and urban renewal – Cllr James Swindlehurst

Health and social care – Cllr Natasa Pantelic

Education and children’s services – Cllr Mohammed Nazir

Digital transformation and customer care – Cllr Nimrit Chohan

Cabinet members do not require approval from full council and are chosen by the council leader.

The council is due to hold an extraordinary meeting on Monday, June 6. A full council meeting was brought to an abrupt halt yesterday (Tuesday) as councillors voted to adjourn so the extraordinary meeting could take place, after a new mayor was appointed for the town.
