New leader of Slough Borough Council announces his cabinet

The new leader of Slough Borough Council has announced his cabinet.

Cllr Sohail Munawar was voted in as council leader at an extraordinary meeting on Monday night, replacing Cllr Rob Anderson, who resigned from the role before a motion calling for his removal could be discussed.

The new cabinet will consist of:

Leader and commissioner for finance and strategy – Cllr Sohail Munawar

Deputy leader and commissioner for education and children’s services and health and social care – Cllr Sabia Hussain

Commissioner for environment and leisure – Cllr Joginder Bal

Commissioner for transport and highways – Cllr Fiza Matloob

Commissioner for regulation and consumer protection – Cllr Paul Sohal

Commissioner for housing and urban renewal – Cllr Zaffar Ajaib

Commissioner for digital transformation and customer care – Cllr Mohammed Sharif
