Maidenhead MP invites youngsters to take part in 2025 Christmas Card competition

Maidenhead MP Josh Reynolds is inviting primary school pupils across the area to get creative and come up with a design for his official Christmas card.

The Advertiser teamed up with the town’s former MP Theresa May more than 20 years ago, to host a competition for youngsters to design a card to be sent out to politicians, community figures and dignitaries from across the world.

The competition has taken place each year since then, and after being elected in July last year, Mr Reynolds has continued the tradition.

The Lib Dem MP is inviting pupils aged 11 and under, who live in the Maidenhead constituency, to create a design, following the theme of ‘Christmas in Maidenhead’.

The suggested size for the designs is A5, and they need to be bright and bold, and preferably done in paint, crayons and felt tips, as coloured pencils do not reproduce well when printed,

Two-dimensional designs are preferable, as materials such as cotton wool and glitter do not work when printed.

Mr Reynolds will choose the winner and the runners-up.

The winning entry will be printed and sent across Maidenhead and beyond.

Mr Reynolds said: “I'm really glad to launch my 2025 Christmas Card competition, inviting young people across Maidenhead to design my card.

“Last year’s entries were fantastic, and I'm really looking forward to seeing the designs that you come up with this year.”

Entries should have the full name, age and school or organisation (such as a brownie or cub pack) of the entrant, as well as a parent’s name, phone number and address.

The competition entries need to be sent to Maidenhead Advertiser, 48 Bell Street, Maidenhead, Berkshire, SL6 1HX.

The closing date for entries will be Tuesday, November 4, and judging will take place soon after.
