Desborough’s Paul Winstanley
--
Desborough made a confident start in the London & Southern Counties Bowling Association competition as they defeated Cambridge Park by 33 shots (71-38).
Desborough have won this competition before, and they cruised into the second round where they'll play Egham.
The format of the competition sees teams play two rinks at home and two away from home and two wonderfully judged rinks from Mark Essex and John McGuinness made the difference in this contest.
John's rink claimed a convincing 23-4 victory while Mark's team very nearly matched that, winning their rink 22-4.

The home side claimed victories in all but one of the five triples matches, with Keith Harvey and Dave Webster producing winning scorecards. Paul Winstanley's team were also victorious, but Tony Buckley's team took top rink honours alongside Carol Bartlett and June Palmer.
