The Card Factory has confirmed that its store in the Nicholsons Centre in Maidenhead is set to relocate onto the High Street.
This comes after an application was submitted to the Royal Borough for the national card shop retailer to display two Card Factory signs on the shopfront of the former Poundland at 88-90 High Street.
Since the closure of Poundland in October last year, the site has been under development.
Hoardings on the shopfront outlined plans to create six apartments and three new commercial units for 88 High Street, 90 High Street and West Street.
In April 2024, a planning application, submitted by Sorbon Estates, which is part of the Shanly Group, looked to re-develop the site into flats and commercial space, and was approved.
Work to re-develop the site has been underway since last year.
The application to put up Card Factory signage is still awaiting a decision by the council.
It can be viewed using reference 25/02134/ADV into the Royal Borough planning portal.
However, the company has confirmed that it will be relocating from the Nicholsons Centre to the High Street ‘in early November’.
A Card Factory spokesperson said: “Our store in the Nicholsons Centre in Maidenhead will be relocating to the High Street in early November.
“We constantly review our store portfolio to ensure we’re in the most accessible locations for our customers.
“We look forward to continuing to welcome our Maidenhead customers at our new location and helping them celebrate life’s moments.”
A major application by Areli to re-develop the Nicholsons Centre will be decided on this week and if approved, work on its demolition could start as early as next year.
