Slough residents have visited the town's new bank today.
Metro Bank opened at The Three Tuns junction in Slough today. Metro Bank, an American company, is the country's first drive-thru bank and has a number of branches in the UK.
The bank, which is dog-friendly, also has a branch which is due to open in Peascod Street in Windsor by the end of the year.
Today there were stilt walkers, popcorn and a DJ at the store to celebrate the opening in Slough.
Bank founder Vernon Hill was also at the branch with his wife Shirley and their dog - Sir Daffy.
Amongst the Farnham Road bank's features are later open hours, free-coin counting services, replacements for lost or stolen credit cards on the spot, sell safe deposit boxes which can be reserved online and customers are invited to bring their dogs into the bank.
Diksha Patel, 32, of Goodman Park, Slough told the Express she had opened up a new account and received a safety deposit box. She said: "The drive-thru is brilliant, it's just what I need because I am too busy to waste my weekends on banking. It's really good to have a modern bank in Slough and I think other banks need to get with the times."
Jimmy Khan, 41, of Farnham Road, who opened a new account, said: "It's an American concept and I think it’s a really good idea. It's going to make things a lot easier for me and I think other banks will catch on to the idea."
