Public notices: Road closures beginning Jan 5

In the public notices this week, there are several road closures in Windsor and an application to sell alcohol from a business in Slough.

Licensing

Online snack retailer Serious Pig, which sells pub snacks and alcohol, is seeking a licence to sell alcohol from a unit in Slough Trading Estate.

It would be selling from Unit 240 Gresham Road, and wants a licence to sell alcohol Monday to Sunday 8am to 6pm.

Any formal written comments or objections can be made to Slough Borough Council by writing to its Licensing Team at Observatory House 25 Windsor Road, Slough, SL1 2EL by January 13.

Road closures

The Royal Borough is looking to close part of Madeira Walk, Windsor at the section outside Morgan House.

The closure is for chamber repair works in the carriageway.

This would be from Monday, January 5 to Wednesday, January 7, between 9am and 3pm each day. There is no alternative route available.

The borough is also looking to close part of Clewer Hill Road from the junction with St Leonards Road to the junction with Addington Close.

The road will be closed from Monday, January 5 until Tuesday, February 24, between 12.01am and 11.59pm. A signed diversion will be in place via St Leonards Road, Imperial Road, Clarence Road and Dedworth Road.

The closure is for water mains reinforcement works. For more information, contact Thames Water on 0800 316 9800 (option 1, reference B301223719).

The borough is also looking to close part of High Street, Eton between Eton Court and King Stable Street, on Monday, January 5, between 9am and 3pm.

The closure is to allow works to take place for a new fibre connection. There is no diversion route available.

In all cases, a road closure can last up to 18 months. Any longer and special permission has to be given by the Secretary of State for Transport.

Lastly, RBWM is looking to close sections of the following roads:

  • Oakley Green Road, Oakley Green – from the western boundary of Woodlands to the access road for Longfields Farm House
  • Maidenhead Road, Windsor – from the A308 Maidenhead Road roundabout to Vansittart Road
  • Loring Road, Windsor – for its full length
  • London Road (A329), Ascot – from the entrance to Lawsons Yard to the Heatherwood roundabout
  • Stanwell Road (B376), Wraysbury – from Coppermill Road to the borough boundary

The closures are needed for carriageway resurfacing works.

The overall project runs for a long period, but the road or area won’t be closed the whole time.

Works are due to start on Monday, January 5 and may last for up to 18 months, with individual closures only when work is taking place.

Meanwhile, Slough council is proposing to close Alpha Street North, Slough, between the High Street and Herschel Street.

If approved, the closure will be in place from Monday, February 16 until Friday, February 27, with the road closed between 12.01am and 11.59pm. A signed diversion route will be in place.
