The two children, Ted and Nancy, at the gates to Legoland Windsor
A young girl with a rare illness and her brother have challenged themselves to a 24-hour walk from Legoland Windsor to Southampton General Hospital.
Nancy Ashley-Potter, eight, and her brother Ted, ten, will start the epic journey early on October 7 alongside supportive friends and family.
Money raised from the walk will go to the Southampton hospital and the EOS Network, two organisations which have supported Nancy with her condition.
Mum, Laura Ashley, said:“The children wanted to do something for charity and it was their idea to walk from Legoland.
“They both love Lego but I’m not quite sure they realised just how far it was.”
Nancy was diagnosed with the auto immune disease Eosinophilic Oesophagitis aged just three and wears a feeding tube to help her maintain a stable weight.
Her brother has also recently encountered symptoms suggestive of the condition and is due to be tested.
Laura said: “We want to give back as much as we can to the network and the hospital who’ve helped us so much over the years.
“If we can do a little bit, just to say thank you, then we’ll have done something good.”
