The festive season kicks off in style in Marlow this Thursday with a late-night shopping event welcoming people into the town.
Organised by the Marlow Chamber of Trade and Commerce, the Traditional Late Night Shopping evening is gearing up for Christmas.
From 6pm, the High Street will come alive with commercial and charity stalls offering a variety of goods and food.
Along with live entertainment, the event is expected to draw thousands of residents into the town.
Visitors can enjoy a funfair and a visit from Father Christmas, who will be back in his grotto with real reindeer standing guard outside.
Many of the town’s shops will stay open for the occasion, and a host of Christmas characters will be on the lookout for photo opportunities.
Marlow FM will broadcast live throughout the evening, adding to the festive atmosphere, while musical groups, school performers and carol singers spread seasonal cheer.
Free light-up novelties for children were such a hit last year that they are being handed out again.
Anyone wishing to take part can contact the Marlow Chamber of Commerce at info@marlowchamber.com.
Although it’s business as usual for shops and hospitality, the High Street will be closed to traffic from 1pm to 10pm to ensure the event can be managed safely.
