MORE than 100 people attended the annual regatta church service at St Mary’s Church in Henley on Sunday.
Regatta chairman Richard Phelps read from Hebrews 13, vv. 2-3 and the sermon was given by Dr Krish Kandiah, who spoke about the importance in the Christian faith of extending hospitality to strangers as well as friends.
Rev Jeremy Tayler, the rector of Henley with Remenham, led the service, which included a prayer for the town of Henley and a prayer for the regatta.
Students from Belen Jesuit Preparatory School in Florida, in town for the regatta, took the collections. The students were Felix Caceres, Victor Alberni and Marco Alberni.
