A RESIDENT has appealed to the town council to have parking at the back of the police station in Greys Road released for public use.
Richard Guy, of New Street, told the council’s town and community committee on Tuesday last week that 10 spaces marked for police were “seldom used for police vehicles”.
He asked, given parking is “pretty much at a premium” in the town, whether they could be released to the public. Councillor Glen Lambert, who chaired the meeting, said he would ask Thames Valley Police.
Mr Guy also asked the committee whether two disabled parking spaces in New Street, for residents who have since died, could be moved to the ends of the road to create more spaces and improve the visibility of the disabled ones.
Cllr Gill Dodds said that disabled parking spaces will shortly be investigated and could highlight the spaces mentioned.
