Planning
A new home is planned in Cookham which will replace a redundant sewage works in a conservation area.
It is considered a major development – removing 2,400sqm of industrial infrastructure – and will affect a public right of way.
The site, set within the greenbelt, is accessed from a long concrete track off Terry’s Lane. It is surrounded on three of sides by Winter Hill Golf Club.
Changes since previous plans include ‘a more compact footprint’ with a reduced building height, ‘minimising intrusion on the surrounding landscape.’
Landscaping will ‘rejuvenate and rewild’ the derelict site, say the applicants, LWR Developments Ltd.
