The British Transport Police has confirmed a person died on the tracks between Reading and London Paddington this morning.
Officers were called to Reading at about 9.25am following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Paramedics attended but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
British Transport Police said the death is not being treated as suspicious.
All lines have now re-opened but some disruption is expected until 3.15pm.
Disruption is expected between Reading and London Paddington this morning due to emergency services being called to an incident.
Great Western Railway has warned all lines between the two stations are currently blocked.
Network Rail is working to get some of the lines opened as soon as possible but delays and cancellations are expected until midday.
