An anonymous artist known only as ‘Impro’ has struck again in Sonning, leaving several post box installations at key locations around the village.
The bright red post boxes, which are conversation pieces only and are not functional, even have a festive, Dickensian theme.
Part of Ebenezer Scrooge's famous saying are inscribed on the display area of the ‘post boxes’. ‘Bah!’ is the only word given.
There are ‘post boxes’ on the village signs, one at second-storey height on a building and the centre piece includes a Santa who has posted himself in what looks like a desperate fashion.
‘Impro’ previously made the headlines when they installed a post box on Sonning Bridge.
They have also installed a Google Maps pin on a roundabout and floated a bench down the River Thames.
The latest surprise pieces have got the locals talking once again with self-confessed fan Tom Fenton saying that he admires all of his work and sees the post boxes becoming a bit of a repeat theme.
“I live in Reading and first came across his work in the Thames," he said.
“He did a traffic island, submarine and park bench which I liked but since then (maybe 20 years ago) he seems to have been plaguing Sonning. I'm just a bit of a fan.
“I think he first got well known due to a post box attached to the bridge which was picked up by the world media and he has been riffing on that idea ever since.
“I think he is quite accepted by Sonning residents now but tends to concentrate around the bridge and Playhatch roundabout.”
