The Old Court.
A new initiative supporting environmental awareness was launched at The Old Court Artspace in Windsor on Sunday.
Green Screen Windsor is a collaboration between The Old Court Cinema and local groups Wild Windsor and Windsor RiverWatch.
It provides an opportunity for the wider community to engage with, boost and protect the natural environment, biodiversity and relevant matters in Windsor and the surrounding areas.
More than 80 people gathered for the screening of Rave On For The Avon, which is a documentary celebrating the Bristol wild swimming community’s fight against river pollution.
The film was directed by Charlotte Sawyer and portrays the power of activism, citizen science and community spirit.
It has been showcased at various festivals including the Wales One World Film Festival where it won the Feature Documentary Audience Award.
After the screening, a discussion chaired by Ciara Lee, multimedia editor at The New Humanitarian, took place.
This featured panellists Rebecca Calvert, the founder of Windsor RiverWatch, Kirsty Davies, the community water quality manager for Surfers Against Sewage, and Jo Robb, the Green Party councillor for the Woodcote and Rotherfield ward at South Oxfordshire District Council and the district’s River Thames champion.
A spokesperson for Green Screen Windsor said: "There was a wonderful atmosphere with enthusiastic support from many local groups.
“The film was very well received and immensely enjoyed, and engagement with the audience during the Q&A session was great.
“Panel speakers from Windsor Riverwatch, Surfers against Sewage and the Green Party were very receptive to questions from the audience and extremely informative in their responses.
“We are immensely grateful to the film's producers for their generous assistance in enabling us to put on our first Green Screen Windsor event."
