An Iceland store in Slough has re-opened its doors following a ‘substantial upgrade’.

The store in Farnham Road opened its doors on Thursday, March 12, following a temporary closure while refurbishment work was undertaken.

The store has been upgraded ‘as part of Iceland’s ongoing commitment to create the most efficient and enjoyable shopping experience for local customers’.

The improvements include new self-service checkouts and a refresh of the exterior with a new shopfront.

The interior layout has also been redesigned, and the store also features improved fixtures and fittings.

Kristian Barrett, chief operating officer at Iceland Foods, said: “Our priority is to enhance our stores for the best possible customer experience, and the Slough refurbishment is a key part of that.

"We’re excited to welcome shoppers back to a brighter, more modern store, complete with improved fixtures and new features like self-service checkouts to make shopping easier and more enjoyable.”

As part of the re-opening, the store is also highlighting the work of long-standing team member, store manager Simon Felsted.

Simon joined Iceland at the age of 16 as a temporary Christmas worker and, over the past three decades, he has worked his way through the ranks and gained experience across multiple UK stores as well as in Ireland and Czechia.

He said: “I’ve been lucky enough to work with so many great people. Iceland has a real family feel across the entire business and it’s been a pleasure to be involved with the amazing team.”
