Youngsters partied in their favourite princess outfits as they braved the rain to enjoy the annual Princess Parade outside Burnham Park Hall.

The popular parade returned for its fourth year on Thursday, July 31, and despite the rainy weather record numbers of entertainers from Snow Princess Parties kept the atmosphere alive for hundreds of guests.

Kicking off at noon, entertainers greeted families as they gathered outside the hall for an afternoon of fun.

Six princesses and two female superheroes kept the party going as guests enjoyed dancing and live singing performances.

Youngsters also enjoyed plenty of party games, which also provided a teaser of the activities the team run during their parties throughout the year.

Heather Moor, who heads up the East Berkshire area at Snow Princess Parties, said: “Then we all spread out [and] did a big meet-and-greet.

“[We] had nice long lines of people, which was good.

“[We] just got to see lots of familiar faces [of people who have] been there the last few years or at parties, and then lots of new faces as well.”

Heather revealed that this year’s event in Burnham attracted around 300 people and saw record numbers of entertainers turn out.

“It’s sort of always hovered around the five or six amount, and this year we had eight entertainers.

“It’s nice because then you get the variety of characters that you can show to the crowd as well.”

The company’s main focus is hosting birthday parties for youngsters aged three to eight-years-old.

But the team also hosts corporate parties at Halloween and Christmas and gets involved with the local community to put on parties at play centres and other venues.

Reflecting on this year’s parade, Heather added: “It went really well.

“We were expecting the rain, we weren’t quite expecting it as badly as it came down.

“I feel like it kind of added to it. All the princesses had umbrellas, the crowd had umbrellas, and everyone sort of stuck with us as we just powered through it.

“It was actually not too bad, and everyone still had fun and [there were] lots of smiley faces.

“It was still quite a good turnout as well.”

Heather added that the positive feedback has been ‘really lovely’

“Burnham Park Hall is sort of the hub of our community, and I only live round the corner, so it’s really nice for me to be able to bring something to that community,” she added.

“I’m just really grateful for everybody that comes out and supports this.”

The team, working in collaboration with Burnham Park Hall, are hoping to make next year’s event ‘bigger and better’.

Heather added: “At the moment it's in very early stages, but we’re hoping to have more of like a stage area.

“To be able to just make it a little bit bigger, more polished.”
