Maidenhead’s ‘biggest’ celebration of coffee is set for its ‘best year yet’ as it returns to the Desborough Theatre for its third year this October.
Organised and hosted by Vicky Weddell, founder of Moneyrow Beans, the Maidenhead Coffee Festival (MCF) will bring together coffee lovers and roasters, cafes and community groups for a day of conversation, connection and coffee from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, October 5.
This year’s theme will be Positive Impact and will celebrate the ways in which coffee can make a difference.
From creating spaces that bring people together to supporting sustainable farming communities at origin, the event will showcase how each cup of coffee has the potential to do good.
Vicky said: “This is why we’ve chosen Positive Impact as our theme for 2025 - because coffee doesn’t just fuel our day, it has the power to lift moods, spark conversations, ease loneliness and create connections that can truly change lives.
“Whether it’s a chat with a barista, meeting a friend, or joining a community group, coffee often becomes the starting point for human connection and support.”
Alongside coffee experiences, guests will enjoy an array of treats which will shine a light on community, connection and conversations.
Some of the highlights include Ruth Rogers from The Canvas of Cafés, who will be bringing along her famous sofa, sparking conversations and celebrating local coffee culture.
Mark Harvey, from Berks Beans coffee and Andy’s Man Club, a national men’s suicide prevention charity, will share the message that ‘It’s okay to talk’.
Speaker and nutritionist and best-selling author Jenny Tschiesche will be on the main stage in conversation with local changemakers in the coffee community.
Colin McGregor-Paterson from the ADHD Café will discuss how his venue has become a hub for families and friends of those with ADHD.
Jem Piggott from Brew Coffee Bar will also be at the event sharing how her coffee shop was transformed into a ‘true community space’.
Coffee trainer, judge and industry leader Tim Sturk will highlight moments from his coffee career.
The event will also celebrate the best in coffee across Maidenhead, Windsor, Eton and Ascot at the RBWM Coffee Shop Awards.
Guests can test their coffee palate at the Cup Tasters competition and there will be plenty of live demonstrations, talks and stories as part of the Coffee Theatre.
There will an opportunity to sample new coffees at The Brew Bar and guests can grab a cup of coffee, meet fellow coffee enthusiasts and have a chat at the MCF Coffee Bar.
Offering plenty of family-friendly fun, guests will also enjoy coffee sack crafts, storytelling and activities with the Green Skills Library.
There will also be workshops and experiences on offer, with children under 16 taking part for free.
Vicky added: “Coffee for me has always been about more than what’s in the cup. It’s about the stories, the conversations and the connections it creates.
“That’s what this festival is all about - celebrating coffee while shining a light on the positive impact it can bring to people and communities.”
Businesses and sponsors supporting the event include Dalla Corte, Brita UK, Minor Figures, London School of Coffee, Park View Dairy, Wolf Rock Media, Coffee Lady, Brewed by Hand, Eight Financial Advice, Knead Neapolitan Pizza and Rimu Marketing.
