Shakespeare will be taking a whole new turn in Maidenhead this October, as the theatre company Impromptu Shakespeare brings its unique brand of comedy and drama to town.
Unlike traditional productions, no two Impromptu Shakespeare shows are ever the same.
Instead of working from a script, the performers take suggestions from the audience before launching into a completely new play in Shakespeare’s style.
Using their training in both classical theatre and improvisation, the cast creates storylines full of lyrical language, sharp wit, romance, and the occasional betrayal which all unfold live in front of the audience.
The company will perform at Norden Farm on Wednesday, October 1 at 7:30pm.
Impromptu Shakespeare has already built a reputation on the UK theatre scene.
Their shows have taken place at the Edinburgh Fringe and the Bristol Shakespeare Festival, and they have appeared on BBC Shakespeare Live.
In 2021, their approach earned them the Best Comedy Event award at the Buxton Fringe.
In addition to their stage productions, the group also run workshops and courses in improvisation for both adults and children.
For local theatre fans, the evening offers the chance to experience Shakespeare as they’ve never seen it before.
Tickets are priced at £19.50, with an age recommendation of 12 years and above.
Tickets are available from the Box Office on 01628 788997 or online at www.nordenfarm.org
