Where to recycle your Christmas tree in the Royal Borough

The council is reminding residents to continue recycling over Christmas and New Year, including real Christmas trees.

Residents with a garden waste subscription, can cut up their real Christmas tree and put it in the green bin for collection.

Christmas trees left next to the bin will not be collected and there are no green bin collections from Monday (December 25) to Sunday, January 7 2024.

There will also be Christmas tree collection points around the borough from Tuesday 2 to Sunday, January 14 2024.

All decorations, lights, pots and stands must be removed before disposing of the tree.

The locations are the following:

  • Ascot: Recreation ground car park, Victoria Road.
  • Bray: Car park, High Street.
  • Cox Green: Ockwells Park, Ockwells Road.
  • Datchet: Village hall car park, Allen Way.
  • Eton: Eton Court Car Park (leave trees in the parking bays on the right immediately as you enter the car park).
  • Eton Wick: Recreation ground car park, Haywards Mead.
  • Hurley: Car park, High Street.
  • Knowl Hill: Village hall car park.
  • Maidenhead: Household Refuse and Recycling Centre.
  • Maidenhead: Stubbings Nursery.
  • Old Windsor: Church Road Allotments (outside that gate on the left-hand side)
Old Windsor: Recreation ground, Robin Willis Way.
  • Sunningdale: Broomhall Recreation Ground, Broomhall Lane.
  • Sunninghill: Victory Fields Recreation Ground, London Road. The collection point at Victory Fields is immediately to the left when you enter the park. Do not leave Christmas trees in the top car park.
  • Windsor: Community Centre, Hanover Way
  • Wraysbury: Village Hall car park.

Cllr Richard Coe, Cabinet Member for Environmental Services, said: “We would like to thank everyone in the Royal Borough for their ongoing recycling efforts this year. Christmas is a time of joy, excitement and indulgence, but needn’t be one of waste.

“To minimise our impact on the environment, please continue to reduce your waste, reuse when possible and recycle right. You should also make sure you know your Christmas recycling and general rubbish collection dates, by visiting the council’s website, social media or checking the posters in libraries.”
