Alzheimer's charity hosts evening of ‘timeless tunes’ from the '40s to '90s

An independent dementia support charity is hosting an evening filled with the ‘timeless tunes’ from the 1940s to the 1990s.

Alzheimer's Dementia Support (ADS Charity) is organising such an event in early January.

Taking the stage at Sue Cormack Hall at St George’s School in Ascot will be three local groups, who between them have a collection of national awards and international exposure.

• The Signature Singers, an award-winning female a cappella chorus which enjoys singing a variety of music, including Barbershop -part harmony, pop and show songs.
• The Royal Males, the quartet who at their first convention appearance won the National Seniors Gold medal, eventually being placed seventh in the BABS main Quartet Competition in 2009. They represented the UK in the World Seniors Quartet competition in Tampa, Florida in 2010.
• The Royal Harmonics, who are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, fresh from being chosen to represent the UK at the European Competition in Sweden. 

ADS’ Patron Sue Holderness (Marlene from ‘Only Fools and Horses’) will be joining the charity as a special guest for the evening.

Paola Cape, ADS events and marketing specialist, said: “For everyone, and particularly people affected by people affected by dementia, music has a unique power to bring back precious memories and lift spirits.

“Our concert is a perfect antidote to January, chasing away those post-holiday winter blues and helping a local charity to raise much needed funds”.

She added: “Every pound raised stays right here in our community, helping ADS Charity to continue their vital work supporting local families in the Royal Borough and Slough borough, who are living with dementia every day.

• Sunday, January 11, 2026 from 6pm to 9pm (doors open at 5.30pm).
• Tickets cost £20 per person. There is free parking.
• Location: Sue Cormack Hall at St George’s School in Ascot.
