Police seized a vehicle near Maidenhead after it was driven at over 100mph on the hard shoulder of the M4.

Thames Valley Police Roads Policing received reports of 'terrible driving' by the driver of an Audi on the M4 on Friday (August 22).

A Roads Policing Unit from Three Mile Cross located the vehicle as it approached Maidenhead.

Officers then escorted the car off the motorway, where it was stopped, with assistance from the Taplow Roads Policing Unit.

Thames Valley Police thanked the 'numerous members of the public' who reported that an Audi had been seen being driven at over 100mph on the hard shoulder.

A statement from TVP Roads Policing said the driver was found to have a fraudulent insurance policy and failed a roadside drug wipe.

The vehicle was seized, and the driver was arrested.
