A summer ceilidh featuring traditional music and dancing is set to take place at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Saturday, June 28.
The event will be held in the venue’s 18th-century Long Barn, beginning at 7.30pm. Tickets are £17.50.
Live music will be provided by Nedron’s Jig, a four-piece band formed specifically for Norden Farm’s ceilidhs. The group includes members of Feast of Fiddles and Phungus, and plays a mix of instruments including squeezebox, fiddle, mandola and bass.
Experienced caller Brian Jones will lead the evening, guiding attendees through dances such as the Nottingham Swing, Cumberland Square Eight, Virginia Reel and the Dashing White Sergeant. Jones, who has been involved in folk dancing for many years, is known for both traditional and original routines used by callers across the UK.
The event is expected to feature well-known tunes including Atholl Highlanders and Rogue’s March, and aims to offer an energetic evening in the Scottish ceilidh tradition.
The ceilidh will be on Saturday, June 28 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £17.50.
