Planning:

Hundreds of flats in large tower blocks could be built in Slough High Street, if a planning application submitted this week is approved by the council.

The plans, which appear in the public notices as a ‘major development’, include 274 studio units as well as spaces allocated for community and retail use at 204-208 High Street.

The three tower blocks would range in height from four to 15 storeys, and would be ‘purpose-built key worker shared living accommodation’.

Existing buildings at the site face demolition as part of the redevelopment, the application said.

Further details were unavailable on Slough Borough Council’s planning portal at the time of publication.

Road Closures

Residents have been warned of upcoming road closures in this week’s public notices.

Hatfield Road near The Cake Box Slough will be closed from midnight on November 3 for roadworks. The closure is expected to be lifted at midnight on November 7.

In Langley, part of Reddington Drive to its junction with Darrell Close will close from midnight on November 18 for road works. Work is expected to finish by midnight on November 21.
