Slough Town FC's stadium plans set for discussion

Football coming home to Slough is set to take another big step forward.

The regeneration of the former Arbour Vale School site and adjoining school playing fields, off Stoke Road, is set to be discussed at a cabinet meeting on Monday, April 16.

The proposal is to re-develop the site to provide a 2,000 capacity community football stadium which will be a new home ground for Slough Town Football Club, 88 homes - 22 social housing and 22 shared ownership -  and enhanced sporting facilities for St Joseph's Catholic High School.

The ground will be leased to the Rebels for 125 years.

Paradigm Housing Group will submit the planning application for the re-development of the site in mid-April.

If all goes to plan construction could begin in the autumn with the project completed in summer 2013.

Also up for discussion will be the appointment of the preferred bidder for the major housing provision in the Britwell Regeneration scheme.

The meeting which is open to the public, will be held at The Centre in Farnham Road, Slough, from 6.30pm.
