Two men who were on trial for the murder of Kyron Lee have been found guilty after long jury deliberations wrapped up this week.

Kyron, 21, died after being attacked in Cippenham on the evening of Sunday, October 2 last year at around 8.50pm.

On that evening, he had been in a collision on his bicycle with a car in Earls Lane.

Three people dressed in dark clothing then chased him down and closed in on him in Waterman Court, where he was stabbed.

The offenders then left the scene in the car.

Kyron was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 9.45pm.

In a tribute released after his death, Kyron was described by his mother as the ‘kindest, most loving, genuine person’ with the ‘most cheeky and infectious smile’.

“He had an ability to make everyone he met feel special despite their flaws and differences; he never passed judgement,” she added.

In a trial that lasted for nearly two months, four defendants stood trial – with two eventually found guilty.

This week, Khalid Nur, 21, of Graylands Close, Slough, was found guilty of murder – as has Mohammed Elgamri, 19, of University Way, East London.

In June, another defendant, Yahqub Mussa of Daylesford Grove, Slough, admitted a murder charge.

At the trial, the prosecution sought to prove the identity of the killers using 1,000 hours of CCTV footage analysis.

Expert witnesses offered a detailed analysis of their clothes – from logos on shoes to distinctive colouration of the soles – and the extent to which they are similar enough to justify suspicion.

But in the end, it was not enough to return conclusive verdicts against all the accused men.

Fras Seedahmed of Surrey Avenue, Slough, also stood trial for murder – but the jury was unable to return a verdict.

Reading Crown Court says the Crown is seeking a retrial.

Alongside the murder defendants, another man – Yakoub Tarafi of Upton Road, Slough – was charged with two counts of assisting an offender.

He was found not guilty at the trial this week.

Nur, Elgamri, and Mussa will be sentenced at a later date.

Two more men are known to be involved. Elias Almallah has been charged with murder and will stand trial at a later date.

Mohamed Abdulle stands trial at a later date for conspiracy to murder and GBH.
