Thames Valley Police has confirmed it is investigating reports of crowd trouble in the aftermath of Slough Town’s FA Trophy clash with Farnborough.
A number of visiting supporters clashed with home fans at Arbour Park on Saturday following a narrow 2-1 win for the Rebels.
Footage circulating on social media showed two supporters falling to the floor.
Slough’s player/manager Scott Davies said he had never seen an incident like it during his six years at the club.
He told the Express: “It’s obviously something we don’t condone.
“I’ve been at the club for six years now and it’s something I’ve never seen before.
“I know for a fact that every person that walks into the ground supports us and I want them at this football club.
“Obviously there’s other clubs that I’m sure can’t say that about their fans.
“We’ve got true supporters and loyal supporters who got involved in something at the weekend which is out of character.
“They were unsavoury scenes that we don’t want to see again and something as a football club we don’t condone.
“Overall we’ve got a brilliant fan base who support us through thick and thin and I’ve got no worries about their behaviour.”
Farnborough Football Club said several young fans have been informed they will be refused entry to its matches while it reviews CCTV from the incident.
A statement said: “While we appreciate both sets of fans were involved, we cannot have fans inciting and being involved in trouble.
“We will be considering the options available to us once the investigation is complete and we have consulted with the authorities.”
Many Slough fans reacted angrily to the statement from Farnborough, feeling the visiting supporters had instigated the clash and were to blame for the disturbance.
A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “Thames Valley Police received a report of public order at around 5.10pm at Arbour Park, Slough, on Saturday.
“No arrests have been made at this time. Officers are investigating the incident and would ask anyone with information to call 101 or make a report online quoting reference number 43230519466.”
