Aquifer House, Horlicks Quarter
Housing provider Abri is launching shared-ownership flats at the historic Horlicks Quarter in Slough.
The new scheme is set to provide 75 one and two-bedroom apartments. Prices start from £71,875 for a 25 per cent share in a one-bedroom flat – the full market value is £287,500.
These are located at the heart of Horlicks Quarter, at Aquifer House, close to the old Horlicks Factory clocktower and landscaped gardens.
On the site are water features, and a store and café overlooking the central piazza. Inside, there is a 12-hour concierge service, cinema room, gym, rooftop garden and co-working space.
Apartments will be available through shared ownership with a minimum share purchase of 10 per cent, and a five per cent deposit.
These will be launching this month, with estimated build completion from late Autumn 2024.
Stuart Hensby, sales and marketing director at Abri, said:
"Shared ownership offers a clear pathway to progress into the housing market. Over time, buyers can gradually step up to full ownership, meaning that they are investing in their own future – as opposed to their landlords.”
A launch event is also being held at the Horlicks Quarter on January 27, 11am to 3pm. There will be people on hand to answer questions about shared ownership.
