SONNING Common and Peppard A went down to a 6-4 defeat in their clash against fellow Reading and District League Division 1 top half team Sonning Sports A. Gary Morgan and Ed Lush won two apiece for Sonning Common.
In Division 2 the B team lost 7-3 at Kingfisher F, Danny Dockree winning twice alongside a single from Malcolm Gregory, while the C team lost 8-2 at Sonning Sports B, Denise Weller and Ian Davenport with singles.
Kingfisher G proved too strong for the D team winning 6-4 despite Gerry Bacon winning twice alongside singles from Oliver Bonser and David Riddle.
Mike Casserley won twice in the E team’s 7-3 loss at Tilehurst British Legion C, Casserley just missing out on a treble when defeated 10-12, 11-8, 11-13, 11-8, 6-11 to Geoff Johnson.

A former head of music at Newlands Girls’ School in Maidenhead has been banned from teaching indefinitely over a litany of ‘sexually motivated’ advances on students.
Police were called to the Jubilee River in Datchet shortly before 10am on Monday following reports of someone in the water.
The first Captain’s Drive In took place at Mill Ride in Ascot on Sunday to mark the start of the club’s year, which saw more than 100 members attend the ‘incredibly well-supported event’.
